Magazine Project- Photo Shoots

Image
I spent quite sometime within the actual game trying to do certain thigs that way I could then go back and take pictures of them. In fortnite there is a feature where games are saved and you can go back and watch the replays. When watching the replay you can change the angle of the camera and zoom in and such. So the pictures that I have chosen above are the best action shots that I could manage to get in to the magazine using the replay feature. As of the actual photo of the over the shoulder shot of a young boy playing a game of fortnite . I used my partners phone which was the Huawei P20 Lite smart phone in Pro Photo mode. The Huawei P20 Lite has a dual lens system. The main lens is a 16MP, f/2.2, 1.0um, PDAF while the second lens which is mainly used for wide angle shots is a 2MP, depth sensor.

Magazine Project-Table of Contents Template

Image
This is my original design for the table of contents. I think that this should be able to hold everting that I need it to along with all the page numbers and images. The article page numbers use a Drop Cap that makes them larger in addition to the blue colored font that draws more attention to the reader and makes the page numbers easy to find and read when looking for a specific article. The page number at the bottom will be displayed in blue font color with the website of the magazine in italics next to the page number. This magazine will be available online in order to reach a wider audience of consumers therefore the website is listed at the bottom to advertise the website.

Magazine Project-Cover Design Template

Image
The title of this magazine came from a mix between The New York Times and eTech Magazine titles. I decided to loosely base the magazine cover design from Game informer Magazine. The simplistic cover design with a full page picture, magazine title, and main article title is interesting and with an intriguing cover photo it can attract people to want to pick up the magazine and see what is inside. In the bottom right corner we made it almost a 3d box. The main magazine title and article title fonts are custom downloaded and are called: Orbitron, Orbitron Bold, and Orbitron Medium. This font is similar to Game informers magazine title font style. The cover font is 65% transparent to show the cover photo through the font.

They teach you about everything you would need to know about eSports from the games to the business behind it. Project Selection - My Decision

Although both the film and magazine have a pros and cons. I am going to have to choose the magazine project for this one. I chose the magazine project for this one because I feel as thought I can express this image in my head better with images and articles in the form of a magazine. I also plan on taking the magazine because I feel like it will allow for me to brush up my skills on editing and researching. The subject of my magazine is going to be E-sports/gaming. I found a partner who also has interests in E-Sports like me. My partner is fairly skilled at researching and editing images. We both have participated in E-Sports events. I am also very proficient at editing videos and images and am also fairly capable of doing extensive research on the subjects on hand.

Project Selection - Film

Pro : There are many good things about choosing the film project, and the main one being that there are many films out and it will be quite simple to find, making the research portion of the project will be quite simple. Con : Many issues I believe would come from having to get people all in the same area at the same time. Also having to find all of the locations along with angles and editing would be too much of a hassle.
